1. Who we are
SHCH Studio Ltd, trading as Unison, is the operator of unisonparty.com and the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at privacy@unisonparty.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Unison, we may collect:
- Waitlist details: where you previously joined the waitlist, your name, email address and the time you joined.
- Account details: your name, email address, account role and temporary sign-in challenge information used to verify your email.
- Event information: event names, dates, plans, activities, invitations and organiser settings.
- Guest information: names, roles, responses, stories, song choices, photos and other material submitted for an event.
- Technical information: security and session identifiers, request details, error logs and basic device or network information supplied when the service is used.
Some guest information may be entered by an event organiser or another participant rather than directly by the person it concerns. Organisers should only provide information they are entitled to share and should make this policy available to their guests.
3. How and why we use information
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Maintain earlier waitlist requests and contact you about account availability where you asked us to do so. | Your consent, given when you asked us to contact you. |
| Create and operate accounts, events, games, invitations and guest participation. | To provide the service requested by you, including steps taken before entering into a contract. |
| Protect accounts, prevent abuse, investigate errors and keep the service reliable. | Our legitimate interests in operating a safe and dependable service. |
| Comply with legal requirements and respond to valid legal requests. | Compliance with a legal obligation. |
We do not use waitlist details for unrelated newsletters or third-party advertising. If we later want to send broader marketing, we will ask separately where required.
Unison may use automated tools to suggest editable game material from content an organiser selects. These suggestions do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about people, and an organiser reviews the result before using it.
6. How we protect information
We use access controls, encrypted connections, protected storage, request limits and other technical and organisational measures designed to reduce unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No online service can promise absolute security.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Waitlist details are kept while access remains pending and are reviewed when they are no longer needed. Account and event information is generally kept while the account or event remains active, then deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably required, subject to backups, security needs and legal obligations.
The exact period depends on the type of record, whether the service is still being provided, the risk of keeping it and any applicable legal requirement. You can ask us to delete information using the contact details below.
8. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete or restrict our use of information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
9. Children’s information
Unison is intended for event organisers and supervised group participation, not for children to create accounts independently. An organiser who includes information about a child must have appropriate authority to do so and should avoid collecting more information than the event requires.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or our legal obligations change. We will publish the updated version here and change the date at the top. We will provide a more prominent notice where a change materially affects how personal information is used.
11. Contact us
To ask a privacy question, exercise a right or withdraw from the waitlist, email privacy@unisonparty.com. Please do not send passwords, guest access links or other sensitive information by email.
